DESCRIPTION:"Seb Brun\, an art of rythm both organic and mechanic wich stri
kes the heart of\ncontemporary music"\n\nFrench drummer\, composer and pro
ducer Seb Brun has spent over two decades\ndeveloping a singular artistic
language at the crossroads of experimental\npercussion\, electroacoustic m
usic and radical electronics. Founder of the\ninfluential Carton Records\,
one of Europe's landmark experimental labels with\nnearly eighty releases
\, and leader of the avant-rock and rough techno project\nParquet\, Brun h
as consistently explored the physical and perceptual boundaries\nof sound.
\n\nThis autumn\, he releases Materials\, the second album of his solo pro
ject Ar Ker\,\nfollowing the acclaimed self-titled debut released in 2020.
\nConceived as a single composition unfolding across three movements\, Mat
erials\ninvestigates three elemental substances that define both its sonic
architecture\nand its conceptual framework: the organic resonance of mapl
e wood through the\ndrum kit\, the bronze of cymbals pushed to their physi
cal limits until they\ndissolve into electronic feedback\, and finally the
copper of electricity\, where\nsaturation transforms acoustic matter into
pure energy.\n\nThe solo project Ar Ker takes its name from the Breton pr
efix ker\, originally\nreferring to a fortified place before evolving to s
ignify a village or dwelling.\nLike its etymology\, the project inhabits a
territory between the archaic and the\ncontemporary—a ritualistic journey
where shamanic intensity meets raw electronic\nsound.\n\nWorking as both
musician and craftsman\, Seb Brun treats drums\, metal objects\,\nelectron
ics and amplification as a single interconnected instrument. His\npractice
is rooted in the materiality of sound and the physical engagement of\nper
	formance\, exploring repetition\, accumulation\, distortion\, temporal exp
ansion\nand the coexistence of multiple scales of listening. The drum kit
ceases to\nfunction as a timekeeping instrument\, becoming instead a gener
ator of tension\,\ninstability and energy.\nImprovisation remains central
to his work. Rather than seeking complete control\,\nBrun embraces instabi
lity\, allowing feedback\, saturation and unforeseen sonic\nevents to resh
ape the performance in real time. Through this constantly evolving\ndialog
ue between body\, instrument and technology\, he questions the role of\nrh
ythm\, the agency of the performer and the possibility of active listening
\nwithin an increasingly saturated sonic environment.\n\nWith his new albu
m Materials\, Seb Brun further establishes himself as one of the\nmost dis
tinctive voices in contemporary experimental music\, creating work where\n
hybridization is never an aesthetic choice alone but a critical and deeply
	\nphysical artistic practice.\n\nhttps://youtu.be/uZ4YlINBcpc?si=axNBEgKiV
