SUMMARY:Exhibition Opening: From the Ashes of the Burnout Machines
DTSTAMP:20260515T122415Z
DTSTART:20260513T160000Z
DESCRIPTION:Exhibition dates: 13. – 16. May 2026 | (Opening hours: Thu–Sat\
, 10:00-19:00) \n\nBurnout not only settles in the individual body as a st
ate of exhaustion\, but it\nalso accumulates\, circulates and disperses in
to a shared climate that stretches\nacross technical systems\, social rela
tions and ecological processes. What\nhappens at the margins of exhaustion
\, where systems falter or refuse to fully\ncohere? Could spaces emerge fo
r tentative forms of connection\, alternative\nrhythms and practices that
do not reproduce the extractive logic of burnout?\n\n“From the ashes of th
e burnout machines” is an exhibition project that\nhighlights how individu
als\, societies and the environment are exploited and\n“burned out” by\, a
mong other things\, an extractive and profit-oriented model of\ndigitaliza
tion. The exhibition approaches digitalization not as an abstract or\nimmat
erial force\, but as a condition that permeates infrastructures\, ecologie
s\,\nand social life. Burnout becomes a diagnostic lens through which to u
nderstand\nthe contemporary moment: a state produced by regimes of extract
ion\, acceleration\nand exhaustion that operate simultaneously on bodies\,
	 environments and\ntechnological systems.\n\nTo articulate this condition\
, the exhibition unfolds through a series of\ninterrelated clusters that t
race the material\, ecological\, social and\nspeculative dimensions of wha
t can be called climate of burnout. These clusters\nare not discrete categ
ories but overlapping fields of inquiry that reveal how\ndigital infrastru
ctures are embedded within broader political\, economic\, and\nenvironment
al processes. Together\, they challenge the dominant ideology of\ndigitali
zation as frictionless progress\, exposing instead its dependence on\nfini
te resources\, invisible labor and uneven distributions of harm.\n\nExhibi
