Given\n positive resonances\, the session EP “Descent to\ninsignificance” was rele ased in August 2022.\nWith this release\, Lightless were able to gain\nrec ognition in the local scene and could raise\nfurther opportunities for liv e shows. A two-digit\nnumber of shows followed in 2023 and 2024\,\nsharing the stage partially with well-known\n(inter)national acts. This provided additional\nrecognition beyond the borders of their home\nfederal state. I n winter 2024/25 recordings for\n“A foreseen loss” were carried out at the band’s\nrehearsal place. This debut full-length album\nwas then released on April 30\, 2025\, and\nsubsequently promoted during a three-day tour\nt hrough the Czech Republic. Glare of the Sun ist e ine deutsch-österreichische Post- und Doom-Metal-Band, die 2013 gegründet wurde.
Ihr Stil bewegt sich zwischen Death Doom, Post-Metal, Shoegaze u nd progressiven Einflüssen und ist
für atmosphärische Klanglandschaften sowie den Wechsel zwischen schweren, düsteren und melodisch-
verträumt en Passagen bekannt.
Die Band entstand im oberbayerischen Traunwalchen bei Traunreut. Seit etwa 2015 besteht die Besetzung
aus Christoph Stopp er (Gesang), Gerald Huber (Gitarre, Gesang), Martin Baumann (Gitarre), Tob ias Schwab
(Bass) und Franz Ebert (Schlagzeug).
