Shadow Switch
The presence and absence of a signal leaves a memory trace. Sometimes this memory becomes bigger than the event itself, as its echo carries our impression of it.
When a signal breaks, the awareness of its function, medium and its context emerges. In this workshop transitions (endings, beginnings and re-commencement) are explored through an analogue switch.
Through a small module, that alters the output of music player, we will create a “fluid gate” that questions our uses of music technology.
Participants can bring, if they have:
media player with jack audio output
headphones with 3.5 mm jack
The kit of electronic components is included.
